And so it begins. It is Junior year and life is changing so fast for Drew. Just when he thinks he has his life all planned out we throw other things to think about into the mix.... haha
He is still pushing towards Law Enforcement as a career choice but Shawn has been talking to him about being Tri Certified in Law Enforcement; Fire and Paramedicine to give him the best options in his career and of course have the best opportunity to make a better living doing what he loves. He is currently swirling that around in his head so we shall see what he decides this year....
We have a girlfriend this year!!! She is the sweetest thing and very pretty. She has a good head on her shoulders and is very smart and driven. She too is into law enforcement but would like to go into the FBI. Ummm WOW!! Very polite young lady, always asks how we are. Its all new territory at this point but Drew is loving life at this point.
He goes to take his drivers test soon (for the second time-had issues with parallel parking the first go round - need Gram to help there) hopefully he will be a licensed driver after the 19th!!!! Cross your fingers and toes please! I am tired of being Taxi Mom for his social life. LOL
On the job front - we haven't pushed this issue with all of his involvement in the Explorers so we shall see where that goes. If things calm down we will push him to get a job if not then as long as he is working towards his goal I am good. My parents gave me the same opportunity growing up working to be a professional ballet dancer. More to come.....
I must say at this point in his life I couldn't be more proud of him! He is grown into a great young man (don't tell him I said young man; he doesn't like that term....). He has a great life ahead of him and I can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings.
Stay tuned.....
